He just said that he didn't want to meet the "Witch of the Wood". Didn't actually refer to her by name. And not enough was done to show why she had to take the "test" and the importance of her "passing it". My mother thought she was evil! There was no mention except at the start of the movie of the fact that she was the holder of one of the Elf-rings. I had no problems with it since I knew the plot, but he did skim over a few details. None of this detracted too much from the film, mind you.
