The ironic thing is that Tolkien himself was very anti-commericial. He hated modern times, and all-pervasive consumerism. Under his son, the estate has attempted repeatedly to make commercial use of Tolkien's works without success. I suppose I should be happy that they've succeeded at this point, but...
