No, I'm not bothered by the commercialisation.
The characters are not as I imagine them
I do not have a need to see them everywhere I look
and I certainly don't want one in my house.

I simply don't buy the figures (though there's a set of full scale helmets from the film which look really cool and which I would buy if I had a broader hallway. Not because tehy are LOTR, but because they look good.

As to them popping up everywhere, I findthat not half as annoying as the Harry Potter merchandise, which is definately aimed at younger children and is seen everywhere you look.

But the hype will pass, after which the Lord of the Rings will revert back to being a classic, wonderful book that everyone should read.


Then again, I have a feeling we have not seen the worst of it here.
