But surely the marketing of books is also commercialism.
Perhaps we should only enjoy something that is published by someone written out by hand and using a gestattener duplicator for distribution only to intimate friends and that never sees the light of day!
I don't particularly like LotR for the reason that most fantasy writers don't deviate from Tolkien's world - perhaps because piggybacking on a tried and tested classic guarantees some interest amongst Tolkien fans - this is commercialism too surely. Let's see something new happening, this stuff is getting stale IMHO.
