Couladin was a very good warrior, even Lan would have been hard pressed.
So, i won't generalize as warders are better than Aiel....that turns things into using numbers, and numbers wise, the warders never have a chance as the Aiel outnumber then many times and would just rol right over them. I'll give my of the top of my head list of people though.
1. Mat Cauthon - I thought on this one for a while and realized that the boy is just GOOD. It doesn't really matter what weapon either. Thom says he has the fastest hands he's ever seen. He knows that ashanderi intimately, every move to use with it. He's great with knives. He actually beat not only Galad, but Galad and Gawyn at the same time, while he was so weak he could barely stand. He killed Couladin. He has all those memories of battles, battles and more battles to teach him strategy. Plus he has tons of luck, which is half of any fight right there.
2. Lan - I don't really think I have anything to say for him
hmmm I'm not sure how I'd rank the rest yet. Rand is definitely up there, but he might be tied with Galad. There are some really good Aiel too. Hmmm in the end I'd probably say Rand next. Anyway, just my view.

It's kinda silly to be argueing about something that can't be proven, but I would disagree with Rand not being as good as Mat or Lan. I would argue that he could take on either of them without much of a problem.
