Personally, I don't picture Shar-Teel as a lesbian, just because she despises the majority of menfolk for being weaklings. While a Bioware-BG2-style romance would be definitely out of character, why shouldn't she grudgingly develop some sort of respect for a worthy male PC? Seems possible and even fitting in the context of the way Shar-Teel was portrayed in the BG1 NPC Project. Since she's one of my favorite NPCs in the whole saga, I'm pretty glad they didn't interpret her as a one-dimensional Valerie Solanas with swords.
