Thanks for posting! That obviously took a bit of time to
write. You do very good reviews btw.
I have not read Game of Thrones but I have read George R.R. Martin,
A comic book called Sandkings an adaption of one of his books.
It was all right. A dude who lives in the same house as me, different
unit though, just read this same book as you. He enjoyed it i think
a bit more than you I think cause he had some more praise for it...but I did notice that he made some of the same points about the characters and there respective showing of alignment.
I can't comment properly since i have not read it, but the way you describe
the magic in the book is interesting. Is it like Lotr where magic is
brutally powerful but seldom used or seen, yet always there too? In fantasy books it has always been my approach that sorcery is an immensely powerful force and not to written about lightly or flamboyantly. In writing i guess
it's just a means to an end but still...
