Djinn, I'll send you a copy of the essay if I ever finish it (stopped studying for a while due to illness so I really haven't written much lately). As for your question, well since I study English all classes are in English as well (we have many native-speaking teachers)
I did read some Jung, I've always thought in many respects he's much more reasonable than Freud, though the latter gets all the attention and the former is a bit neglected. I still wouldn't use his analyses as a valid literary theory, but I do see some merit in them
My favorite philosophers in that class are probably Gadamer, Lacan, Levi-Strauss and Derrida, probably because they were near impossible to understand
That's exaclty what I liked about them, they leave you with more questions than answers; I mean, their writing style to start with is cryptic and difficult. But the first time I was discussing Gadamar in class and suddenly found out what he was saying, well, it got me hooked!
