Keryvian, I have had no problems at all in obtaining my copy of the Gormenghast trilogy, there available in different editions in the Netherlands...
Jsut checked Amazon.co.uk, they have several ed.s there as well....

I wouldn't think that Lovecraft would be the best bedtime reading.

As for Gormenghast, maybe it was just harder to find in the U.S., it was never terribly popular here. I had to pre-order the omnibus version that I currently have - it was the only one I could find. I couldn't find any of the original editions at all, even through my normal out-of-print book sources. It also might be easier to find now, since the BBC (I think it was the BBC ) did a production of Gormenghast.
