I think he is past that and needs to access the caves leading to the ship.
A workaround:
Go north of the village to the area with the shipwreck. Type
CLUAConsole:ExploreArea()
CLUAConsole:EnableCheatKeys()
Then move the pointer to a location on the path to the ship and press CTRL+J. You should then be able to approach the ship for the final showdown. Unless you have a really serious bug on your hands.
