I guessed the part about being rescued by Thom Merillin too - Egwene had a dream about Thom putting his hand into fire to draw out Moiraine's blue stone.
Also, my guess is that she'll come out at the tower of the Aelfinn and the Eelfinn in the Two Rivers
due to other clues.
