Hmm, interesting comments, all.

I put my vote as the worst fantasy author of all time as Piers Anthony.

Xanth novels - a "trilogy" of (I've-lost-count-how-many) that should have stopped at one. And as for some of those self indulgent author ramblings at the end of some of his books - Ehh, urg !!
