I think the reason we have so much trouble with NPC's that are supposed to be non-hostile becoming hostile is factions. Somebody is liking somebody they should be neutral to, and when they see us whack them, such as the watchers if they see us kill the cube right as you come in, it can make the level almost unplayable for a single char. I have yet to get all the way through the level w/out having every NPC in the area mad, although I have gotten close a couple of times. I really think that factions are where the problem is though.
On a side note, perhaps we need a variable on Squch, so that there is only one at a time, instead of one per PC...That was funny, but kinda rough.
