We had a BAD lightning storm the other day, and It was stationary for like 6 dang hours, so I turned everything off. TV, too. It was striking close. I DO have a very good surge protector for the website server, so I left it up. It also has UPS.
I plan on buying another for the my personal PC for EFU and stuff, but they cost like $70. (The GOOD ones cost a lot).
