I was just going the the Original Campaign (again [img]tongue.gif[/img] ) and found the ring in Chapter 1. It was the ring for which Grimgnaw the monk henchman is searching.
Perhaps Ziroc has his own quest for this ring as it seems to be flagged as a plot item.
