Shagrath's Escape, The Demise of Gorion.
***

It was already late into the morning when Shagrath awoke, and he headed down into the inn at candlekeep. That annoying brat, Imoen, came running down the stairs. "Shagrath, Shagrath! Have you heard?" she bounded along next to the dark elf, who said "No, and i don't care either, now begone from my sight."
"It's Gorion, he's taking you away!" Imoen persisted. "Then let him take me, maybe i'll finally be rid of the place, and you, you damnable wench, now leave me be."
He left the inn, with imoen shouting after him, "You've never liked me! Just becuase i i'm not as smart as you, or as good with a blade, you've always hated me! I'm a girl, i'm obveously not going to be as powerful as a drow, but why hate me for it? SHAGRATH?"
Shagrath walked across the courtyard, and he jumped by a halfling. "Be you Shagrath, The drow, and Gorion's ward?" He asked.
"Indeed i am, now what do you want, speak before i make you shorter than you already are, and you wouldn't want THAT now would you?"
"Well, if it's a fight you're looking for, you're in luck. Truth be known, there's a bounty on your head, and i'm assuming it's because you're drow scum, but either way i'll kill you where you stand."
He lunged at Shagrath with a knife, but the drow was too fast. He cast magic missile, and left the Halfling in a smouldering mess. He carried on across the courtyard, and found Gorion. "What happened to you, my child? You have blood on your sleeve."
"Nothing of your concern old man." He said coldly. "The brat said you were taking me away from here."
"She knows? Gods, the foolish girl could have got herself killed!"
"A pity she didn't..." mumbled Shagrath.
"I'VE TOLD YOU BEFORE, I will NOT have my ward having such prejedice against another, becuase of race and combat abilities! You've never liked her, or anyone else here becuase of SILLY things, even when they were perfectly nice and friendly to you! I bet that's what the blood is isn't it! Who did you kill?!"
"Only a halfling who tried to kill me, Calm yourself, Old Man, before you have a heart attack and i have to stay in this dump."
"You're cheeky shagrath, It would do you good to show some respect. Now i have some armour, and a sword for you, I got it from Winthorpe myself, i didn't think i could trust you to do it yourself, and if you did, i couldn't trust you to use your manners."
"Whatever. Lead the way, i'm not listening anymore, you bore me." Said Shagrath, as he donned the studded leather, and put the longsword in it's scabbard.

"Now if ever we get seperated, head to the friendly arm inn. There, you will find Khalid and Jaheirah. Long have they been my friends, and they will surley aid you." Gorion sounded firm, and Shagrath thaught it best not to say anything this time. As they continued down the path, a huge armoured man approached. "Gorion, Hand over your ward and you will be unhurt."
"Run child! Go, i'll deal with this!"
Shagrath turned, and ran down the road into the trees, and hid himself where he could still see the battle. It was long, and eventually, Gorion fell. The armoured man started to make his way to candlekeep, and Shagrath knew it was a good job he wasn't there anymore. Just then, when he thaught he was finally rid of her, Imoen can running towards him. "Shagrath! i saw it all! Gorion's dead! I followed you, Oh what are we going to do? That...Thing's heading back to candlekeep! He'll kill everyone! Oh Shagrath, Let me go with you, Please, i'm begging you..." She burst into tears, and flung her arms around shagrath. "Get off me you stupid girl!" He pushed her off him, and slapped her to the floor. I thaught i was finally rid of you, but NO, you follow me, Why can't you leave me alone, you never have, And you're always looking over my sholder, What is it with you!?"
Imoen, still on the floor, sobbing, said, "Shagrath, Gorion was like a father to me, you didn't like him, but i did. And he still sacrificed his life to save you. Now you're all i've got left, don't leave me...don't leave me..."
she sobbed even harder.
"Misrable wretch, get on your feet, let me see what you have in your pack."
Imoen stood up, "I've got nothing of value," She didn't want shagrath to go through her belongings, but she couldn't stop him, and she knew he had evil in mind.
"Nothing of value? Oils of speed, healing potions, I'LL take them."
"Shagrath, they were from...Gorion..." She wailed.
Shagrath slapped her again. "Why do you persist in following me, and moaning when i make a decision, if you follow me, you do as I say, now get going to the friendly arm. NOW!" he yelled. He couldn't think why she insisted on going with him, when he had already hit her twice. As imoen bumbled along infront, Shagrath had finally had enough of her sobbing, and crying. Quietly, he drew his sword, and commited a devilish deed. He snook up behind her, and jabbed the blade into her back. Crying, bleeding, hurting, she fell to the floor. She looked up at Shagrath with her swolen, tear filled eyes, and reached up at his feet with her hand. She grabbed the top of his boot. Shagrath look down into her eyes for a second, then shook his head, and walked away, leaving her to die.
