have you tryed defeating him without dying, It's pretty hard but possible to take him down before he kill's anyone.

They aren't turned to stone, the shaded portraits stay in the party. I'm playing the game TuTu'd with the TUTU Tweaks and a couple of TUTU npc mods, Mur'Neth and Indira.
