I've also got a HUGE number of custom portraits that I can send you if you're interested. I forwarded you some small thumbnails (some of them do NOT do the actual portraits justice). Let me know if you are interested.

If you JUST sent them, then I'll look at them, but if you sent them last night, I MAY have del'ed them thinking it was a virus attachment
BTW, tell me this about portraits--can I drop them into my game, or do I have to make a hakpak for it? And IF I make a hakpak for it, does this automaticly download all the portraits on my server to users that don't have them?
If NOT, I think they are working on an 'auto-download' feature. Maybe it's IN there already...?????
Z,
I sent them this past weekend (not sure of the exact day) so you probably deleted them. I will resend the thumbnail file tonight. Its a small subset of the most recent ports I have done. A fair number of drow and elves but no race is neglected.
As for the portraits, I believe that the only way to do things at present is to modify the portraits.2da file and build a HAKPAK containing the modified version of that 2da file AND the .tga portraits. That is going to be a BIG HAK file as each .tga file set takes almost 500 kb of space. I'm not an expert on how the hakpaks work but I believe once the HAKPAK is loaded the game can automatically access the ports.
Edit: Oooops, I keep forgetting that at the moment this is only running online and is not downloadable mod. That changes things. More research required.
An alternative is to only use a subset of the custom ports (there currently are only 28 user slots available in the existing portraits.2da file) - that would keep the portrait HAK file size down to something more manageable (14 megs +/- if you fill all 28 slots).
I'm not sure about the autodownload feature - maybe someone else who is more experience can provide some details.
You can avoid going the hakpak route IF everyone who logs into the mod also has the portrait sets in their portrait file folder. That would entail providing a zipped file of the custom ports in the mod for users to download and put in their portrait folders. That might be simpler. It would also let people use them for their OWN characters.
let me do some research on this and I'll post more later.
