No, no - Don't eat crow, (real bad ju ju man). (Interesting fact: crows are the only animals known, other than humans, to create tools to acomplish tasks - unrelated to habitat.)

I think the idea was soley a PNP restriction (though I can't concieve of why). For the "elf" part (considering chaotic evil alignment down the road) I just went with an elf race renamed (and blue colered) to a Drow.

Though you have prob. already found out, be carefull about points in skills - on my character I seem to be getting a nice boost on skill across the board (varying boost though). For instance I was getting a boost of 3 to perform skill so that I only had to place in 2 points in that skill (any more and I'd loose the ability for the +1 hit and +1 damage bard song - and of course I can always wear items to modify the bard song if I want).

I'm approaching level 14 now and I have to say that this character is a real TANK (as a bard level 9 AA level 4), better than my pure monk was at this level and about to head into Luskan. Typical scenario is wear robes of Dark Moon for Haste (I have 14 points in magic item use), use lesser oathbow, Feats in (point blank, rapid shot, blind fighting, weapon focus shortbow, improved critical shortbow), natural attribute scores (in order) of (11, 19, 14, 13, 8, 14), Dex. modifiers of (Elf boots and ring of the rogue) = 22 Dex.), +2 ac ring, Caste Mage Armor total AC = 27), with rapid shot (detriment) and Bard Song modified hit = 20/15, with Haste and rapid shot thats 4 attacks a round.
For most encounters there is very little finessing envolved and on occasion for pounding power I'll summon a Dire Boar and give it mage armor (makes for a good distraction too).

On top of all of this (like most characters I run) its a solo character (i.e. no henchmen neccesary), the character has good skill levels in open lock disable trap, set trap, appraise, persuade, etc..

It however isn't as strong as my Monk 2/Sorceror 11 at equal levels. Nor is it as strong as my Rogue/Shadow Dancer/Blackguard at an equal level (finessing the "hide in plain sight feature and using a Scythe). BUT I haven't gotten that "hail of arrows" feature yet OR any levels with Death Attack paralyzation. (who knows, may end up prefering it over the others?)
