Yeah, I definately shouldn't have neglected Imoen's find/disarm traps, but I figured there was no point in the pick pockets ability...it's useless in BG2 as well.
So I went outside and bought some more potions, so now I have 6 potions of perception for Imoen. The method I'm using for Imoen right now is to have her hide in shadows and then switch to detecting traps. If I don't get a chance to hide back in the shadows before she becomes visible (like if there are monters around or if she fails), then I have her gulp a potion of invisibility. It's working pretty good so far, but I was caught completely off guard on the battle with Durlag, Islanne, and Kiel (where all of them become dopplegangers). I wasn't exactly ready for cloud kill and a few poison gases to be thrown my way like it was in a contingency...
