Played a lot so here is a longish update:

After giving the cockatrice feather to Aribeth Cang had a look at some of the wares of the paladin. She saw a few interesting items but did not have enough money. She decided to head to the district of the nobles and "ask" them for some. In this spirit she recruited the thief who had seemed to be waiting for this in the temple.

She had expected riches to be awaiting her beyond the gate but instead she was faced with a no-man's land. The only excitement provided there was some sort of ogre who while distracted by Erea and Tomi got pounded by spells and died. The recompensation the man gave her was not enough and she tried killing him but none of her spells worked against him and neither Tomi nor Erea managed to touch him (OOC: it wasn't easy to shake him either. stupid immortal... ). After finally managing to shake him she got into even greater trouble. Four enemies just teleported near her. She was nearly killed but managed to run away and while the four attackers were busy with Erea and Tomi she blasted away at them with spells. On the corpse of one of them an interesting note was found. She put it away for further use and proceeded to Blacklake. The district had much more order in it than the rest of the town. But smiling to herself she saw that evil could also be found here. A female named Formosa asked her to take care of a certain mage named Meldanen. She proceeded in the direction of his residence but was distracted after she noticed the houses of those Ophala had told her to target. She stole both objects and killed Rumsbottom. The arrogant noble thought that he was going to live long enough to identify her. Then she had a stroke of luck. She encountered a wizened old woman called Milly whom she threatened into telling her the secret entrance into Meldanen's home. Once inside the mage's mansion Cang went from chamber to chamber looting everything. Meldanen's apprentice could not stop her and after killing him Cang felt suddenly stronger. Although Erea was evil she felt that he had not served her well enough and instead took on Nimat a stealthy panther. She guessed that he would work well together with Tomi. Sure enough the rest of the mansion was completed easily except for Meldanen himself. The mage had quite a few powerful spells up his sleeve and Cang was near death several times in the battle. Without the stone given to her by Aribeth she would have surely died. But in the end thanks mostly to Niamat and the summoned boar Meldanen was subdued and parleyed with her. For the first time in her life Cang was impressed by an opponent and actually let Meldanen continue his pathetic life. Although she did get his key and silver tooth from him. Cang left Meldanen's mansion and collected her reward from Formosa and then went to the tavern for which she had bought a token to be able to fight. The combats went easily and she found herself the proprietor of the tavern.

Then Cang remembered that she had forgotten to talk to the nymph in Meldanen's mansion. This time she entered by the front gate after having killed the guards and after a long walk got a lock of the nymph's hair. She used her stone to get back to Aribeth and gave her the nymph hair and showed Fenthick the not she had found. Desther was quite annoying and Cang decided that if she got the opportunity she would kill him.
