I read that a good thing to do with Monks is to get the shield proficiency feat and use that since it doesn't affect either the Dex or Wis AC modifiers or the Monk armor restriction. I tried it, a lo and behold, it works fine for AC and restrictions.

Only thing is, when the shield is equipped, the attack bonuses shown in the character screen are (Full bonus for the first attack, full bonus -5 for the second instead of full bonus -3 for unarmed) even though the Monk is still considered "Unarmed" according to the same screen! Is this how it's suppoised to be or a bug?
