I saw this book in a store some time ago. Nothing fantastical about it really, just a spin-off from the game. As for these 'hints' I saw none. If anything they would be tidbits of info that newbies to D&D would find useful such as the elves ability to max dex out at 35 ("The fair folk are born into a natural agility making them the fastest and most dexterous race").
