Stick with light armor,(cloth, leather, studded leather..) so you get all the cool Ranger abilities like dual wield.
A good weapon mix is maybe a longsword(cause theyre my fav.) and a shortsword so you get the bonus to attack because its a small weapon.

Thats all I can think of right now. If I missed anything, then feel free to add it.
