I had the same problem Magnetism, I thought I had lost my sword for good. I left it were it was and continued to play after I quit the game and reloaded again later in the evening I had happened to go back were I had lost the sword and it was still there and I was able to pick it up. This happened to me again(daa)and this time I saved and quit and reloaded and was able to pick it up,but only after I reloaded could I pick it up.
