Well my current character is a fighter8 rouge 5 half elf, using the Shield and bastardswor and sometime the greatsword. Powerattacks, knockdown, iron will. Heavy duty fighter guy with a nasty edge more or less.
Dual classed because Tomi is not good enough in a fight for me and with a full plate and large shield you are not going to sneak around the corners easily. So Rouge class because I want the use magic device, sneak attack and persuade (people taunts him because he has 8 in charisma) and of course search and disable traps.
As I suspected, this combo has been far superior to the 3 class multiclassing, fighters that boosts their saving throws are reallylethal, and with haste and invisibility, you can even sneak up on evil wizards, choose powerattack, and sneak the wizard and then knockdown while he is still flatfooted and get another sneak and when down, give him another sneak attack, all with powerattack.
Level 16 wizards? Pfah... Breakfirst is served!
