G'day Elric, Welcome to IW
To give you a bit of a background, I am 23 years old and before Baldurs Gate came out I thought the exact same way as your mates... i.e. computer games are for geeks and losers
One day I saw my brother (a geeky loser

) playing a game that looked like fun - a whole world to explore! Needless to say, I got hooked and ended up buying the addon and following through to the end of Throne of Bhaal.
From there I've bought games from Half-Life to Quake3 to Operation Flashpoint to Ghost Recon.
And I think that so long as you don't immerse your entire life into the game, you'll be a'ight So just make sure that you don't neglect reallife and I wouldn't consider you "sad"
As for multi-player, I have played Half-Life and Quake3 online extensively (I'm not very good though ) but have never tried RPGs online. I am looking forward to trying it out on NWN with some people from this forum. I'll let you know how it goes
I'm thinking of going a monk next time, are you a human or something else?
