Half of the fun of NWN is customization. I believe that multi-classing gives you access to character creation that can make for a very memorable character. I used one of the pre-rolled characters to start off, but have been adding my own ideas where I want him to go. My character is the Ranger. Not just any Ranger mind you, but a multi-classed Ranger/Thief. As a spark of fun, I added in some spell casting abilities to get him prepped up for a possible tri-class. Not sure yet. I was a little confused at first how my first level thief couldn't pick locks or disarm traps, but after adding those abilities, am quite pleased (since I started him as a Ranger first, I was given sparse beginnings as a thief). Since the Ranger already had some thieving capabilities (stealth), I didn't have to spend points there. I added the use magic skill as well so that I could cast from scrolls (thief ability). Since the abilities are so close together (He's 3rd level Ranger/2nd level thief), it's almost like having an elvish Ranger/Thief, but as a human. Pretty cool. As for level advancement, it hasn't seemed that fast for me, but then, I am going up 2 levels simultaneously. It takes a bit longer. Now if only my henchman wouldn't keep dying and I could use the gold on items instead of teleporting . . . LOL
