It looks like there are three types of PKing options...no PK, party PK (you can only damage the other team), and full PK.
As for looting, that is also an option that can be viewed before you enter a game...so beware the games that are full PK and have you drop everything on death. munchkin-land.
Also, I think if you die and are looted on a server, it is only saved on that server. Which means you can quit without saving and the character information that is stored on your local drive will not be updated.
There are also a lot of different death options too, as in permanent death, respawn, etc.
Very versatile.
