I know what you mean when it comes to in game chatter. Just look at Diabo2 on-line.

I'm hoping that there will be a system so that you can only talk to people in the general area. With maybe several radiuses -- like 10 feet for whispering -- 30 for talking and 250 for screaming for help.

It would also be good if an NPC could react to things they “hear” probably more a scripting thing though.

I’m confident that NWN will be a great game. But I’m also confident that it will not be able to live up to all the expectations all of the time. What game could. But I hope it manages to live up to its own hype.
