The exp. remover programs usually consist of a file(s) that has/have to be copied into the game override folder.


As I said before, if you are planning on importing your characters into BG II all levels over the cap will be lost. But until then you can, of course, use all spells, abilities, hps, etc gained through the new levels - if you have used a good remover program that implements all the benefits of levelling up - take a look at desslock's. I know that they have good removers/rule fixes for BG II there, so I am assuming that they are having them for BG I as well. But I, for instance, don't remember if there are any level 6 mage spells to be found in the game, so that could, for example, limit the fun of playing a mage way over the cap. There is one other possibility to maximize your gaming experience in BG I: play Dark Side of the Swordcoast, an unofficial expansion, that allows to go up to level 12-15. I have only just begun to play it myself. It is said to be very good, but you need TotSc and to start a new game of BG I to play it. You can get it here.
