First of all, I'd like to say that my impressions so far of the demo are lukewarm. But I want to reserve full judgmenet until I try out more character combinations and get used to the combat (melee feels awkward ).

But I think everyone in this forum will recognize little bits of W&W they borrowed for this game: The ambient sounds, the look & feel of the savegame menu, the trap and chest disarm system, and the "pull the lever" method of transitioning from outdoors to dungeons.

In fact, I think that this game is using a revamped version of the "Deep6" engine they developed for W&W. Not surprising as I'm sure they wanted to streamline development by re-using what they could from past projects.

Its funny that lots of people on other forums are commenting about how nifty the trap disarm interface is. Fact is, its nothing new for us W&W veterans (its not exactly the same, but you can clearly see the inspiration) !
