That is strange. The gate should not be stuck there. Can you still see Pries'kiel'a anywhere? If you kill her you kill the trigger for the gate, and hence the gate should open. Otherwise you might have to reload the game.

You can, of course, still exit the caves at the back entrance. Then, if you have the "create portal" and "teleport" spells you can create a portal near the front exit. Then open the trap door, jump back into the caves and complete the dungeon and then teleport back.

All your characters can invoke the Evil Eye. To get to the Idol of Aku you have to place the eye in a receptacle. When you take the eye out again it can be invoked again even if you have already invoked it. Repeat that process until all your party members have the evil eye ability.
