Time for another update on the Den.
They're in Anephas' Shrine, with all the appropriate quests underway. First thing Digger did was to create a portal in the entrance -- the smart thing to do, right?
Walked down the hall to the pit, and decided to try to jump it yet again.
Well, sonofagun... today they jumped! Twice!! Yep, ran over, got to the pit opening, and soared across, graceful as a bunch of turkeys. But they made it! This is with a skill level of zero in athletics, BTW... points have gone more important places.
So....we head around, and come across the scarabs of the caves. Just like the mytharian wisps, they're annoying, with high-pitched voices. Just like the wisps, they can make you insane. Oh, shoot... Half-pint is insane. Okay, who's got the... where are the... don't tell me... oh, great. What GENIUS put all the Exorcism scrolls in Half-pint's backpack, 'cause you can't open the backpack of a crazy person! And us with the two guardians of Isis way down in the red, too... Well, let's finish them and head up, since crazy half-pint still gets experience for doing nothing.
Oh, crumbs. More Scarabs. And look... now Janet's insane. And so's Digger. AND SO'S DIGGER???? Our one and only spellcaster? The only guy who can cast a storm spell? And who can wield the best swords? THAT Digger? Oh, shoot...
Well, we finish off the two guardians (26k XP each), and take out three temple guardians (30k XP each) before heading back to the surface with three insane bodies in tow. We swim all the way back to Brimloch Roon and cure everyone, level up (Digger's now an 18th level assassin, and everyon else is a 19th level Rogue). Digger's outside portal still works, so we're back into the shrine.
Only this time, everyone picked up two Exorcism scrolls as insurance...
