Attacking Sarevok now is wrong. YOU may know he's a bad guy, but to everybody else, he's a good guy, and trying to kill somebody lauded as a hero (everybody loves him for solving the iron crisis) is generally regarded as a Bad Move. That's why Angelo and the rest of the Flaming Fist show up, to arrest (read: kill) your sorry, Duke-attacking butt.

That's probably why Winski Peorate starts opening up his can of Flamestrike on you, too, although in my experience he only does that when you fail to save Belt and Liia. If you save at least one, you win, but if both die, you lose, whether you killed all the Doppelgangers or not.
