I have a different experience than you, Radek. I almost never train sorcery this early in the game, and while my spells do fizzle occasionally, it's not a real big problem. I also haven't done your excellent research into what fizzles when -- I am always impressed with the things you've done!
One note on leading them into the shocking rooms -- they can indeed die in there, and you get experience only if you've hit them at least once. If they die without you hitting them, you get nothing. If you hit them with sword, spear, or staff early on, or if you throw something as innocent as a flamedrop on them, then when they die you will get XP (providing you're still in the caves). You'll be wandering along when suddenly, you'll get told "the Jungle Lily dies! + 11,500 experience" or something like that.
Same goes for the dark one in anephas' shrine. I've had him killed by closing doors before -- if you hit him at least once, you get XP. You don't hit him, and you get nothing.
