This is in the tech thread altohugh I really must fix these entries in the index. There is a fix for this as well. Go to your short cut for W&W, either in start menu or on the desk top. If you donīt have a short cut you need to create one, linking it to the 'deep6.exe' file in your W&W directory. Then right click your short cut and choose properties. Slelect the 'compatibility' tab and check the box 'Run in compatibility mode' and select 'Windows 95 compatibility layer'. This should fix your problem although the game still might crash now and then so save, and save often.
If you donīt have a compatibility tab you need to do the following:
1) Select run and then type 'regsvr32 %systemroot%\apppatch\slayerui.dll' then click ok. You will get a box saying something has been modified in the registry.
2) Restart your computer. If you donīt you will miss out on all NPC speech.
3) You will now have a compatibility tab when selecting properties on your W&W short cut.
