As for your question, there are a couple of things to do.

The virtualdub fix. Expands all the AVI files so they will work properly.
Run in win95/98-compatible mode. Check the properties on your WW shortcut link.
DirectX version and drivers. Recent is better...
Stop in at the Boogre Bar for refreshments and to let us know how it's going.
Check the soon-to-be-updated Techie Help Desk thread for specifics and details on all these things. I'll make sure it's on the first page, if it has slipped off.
