But why settle for just giving to her! (I'm mean) After you give the necklace back to her, she will give you a potion to help in the snake temple. You can buy back to keep the necklace, or repeat process for as many potions as you want (of the price keeps rising), and then keep the necklace for yourself. You still completed the quest, and you now have a +1 AC, 50% boost to poison deterrance, and charges to cure poison (although the charges drop by one with each subsequent buy back of the pendant).
