With vampirism which does indeed paralyse foes, i also got Vampire Breath ability which is like a coldbreath spell.
If you get low on hit points make sure you constantly bite with the Vamp and pass (space) the other player's moves so you can reach max hp ASAP. Having a Vamp die due to blood thirst is no bad thing. Just resurrect him and he appears back on a dozen hit points or so, then go find sy=ummat to scoff.
