Yes, my group couldn't get past the statues either. You have to drag them back into the room.

Y'know I can't remember how to get to Kerah, except that you have to dive into a pool of water and swim up into where Kerah is. If I remember correctly, you have to avoid crush damage from a moving piece of architecture, also.
