Hi Dale! Lifting the curse in the temple should help. Otherwise you've encountered a bug which is unknown to me. The only possible reason for the dagger returning to your hand that I can think of is that your inventory might be full. If that is the case, try to sell off some stuff and uncurse the dagger once again.
