1) Have you talked with the Oracles yet?
2) Do you have the Signet of the Mavin ring from the Crypt yet? (If not, go back and finish the crypt, then come back to the caverns).
3) If you have the ring, you have to ask the Oracles about "Destiny". It's the keyword that opens a passage in the cave to allow you to go further.
