This particular problem has happened to so many players
Exiting and re-entering the Temple can sometimes solve the problem. Wiggling about and spinning can sometimes solve the problem.
The snake idol is at the end of this difficult tunnel and using it in the Library will gain you the answers you need to say to Naga spirit to get the giant head to open and allow you access to areas beyond. Fortunately, those answers are in the Best Tips thread so if you can't manage to get through that tunnel, you can still play on!
