From the landing point on the Enchanted Isle follow the sandy path north, take the left (west) fork until you hit water. Swim north and then curve west to reach the large sandy area. Head south to the Temple. Here's a

Yes, it's common to get stuck near Talrik. If you have the Portal and Teleport spells you can create a portal in deeper water, swim back to your ship, and teleport it off the reef to the portal location.
