Xzar cast flame arrow three times, as did the PC (who was alternating between that and using the wand of monster summoning to generate some cannon fodder). Also, Vicona had all her level...3 i think, priest spells set to animate dead, and therefore also generated some hefty amounts of fodder. The skeletons seemed to last a little bit longer against drizzt than the war dogs and hobgoblins did. In the end i had maybe a skeleton or two left who were fighting drizzt and half a dozen hobgoblins in moral failure running around the map. Incedentally, it was my pc who killed drizzt...with a plain old sling, and a plain old bullet on a critical hit. But, aside from being an outrageously unfair battle (80-to-1 or so), i don't really think it's wrong to use the tools that the game provides to beat drizzt...do you?
I did the exact same thing to defeat Do'Urden. And the same tactic to take down Sarevok.
