My group has moved on to Brimloch Roon, but I'd decided to let them circle through their last four classes before changing to the super-elite classes not simultaneously, but in a way that I should always have a bard, a paladin, a warlock and a samurai.
Now it's easy to store the spell ingredients for the warlock quest, but what about the Baton and the Scroll of Trickery?
So I let them take the promotion quests, and went to the Serpent Temple. They got the Scroll, left the Temple, dropped it outside (gave it to the horse >g<), went back in, got another scroll - you get the idea.
Same with the Baton - dropped it in the first room of Shurugeon, and went back to get the next one.
For good measure I had everyone say Sanctus Holy at the Altar of Serran - now I'm waiting to find out if this will work when the next on the list is taking the paladin quest. It did work for all my ninjas - some time ago I took the ninja promotion quest a bit early - I still wanted to make some levels in my previous class, and was startled by seeing the candidate suddenly in her underpants when visiting the Dojo - she had been to Shurugeon Castle before which was enough for the Guildmaster.
Now my mules are holding three Scrolls and three Batons (patched my game for my last playthrough) - I could have gone on forever, if Shurugeon wouldn't take so long to load on my machine.
