Have you tried running the game in software mode? 3dfx (especially Voodoo) has some problems with the D3D mode. You can also try updating the drivers for the card. I'm not sure what the URL for the Voodoo web site would be; probably that of the manufacturer.

There's also some issues with the Windows ME codecs. I'll see if I can bump something up for you.
