You may want to see my post"crabcakes and "cursed" items, i asked the same question and there are many good responses there, check a few days back.
The first three should be easy, check around Skull Island and areas west and south. Once you get the first couple o breathers (you need three shells per set up for each character), I sent my most powerful character(Paladin) and Samuarai Scout on a crab hunt, walking beneath the ocean, eventually they show up down there.
