Were your party listings what you planned to do with your party?
You can only start with Warriors, Wizards, Rogues and Priests.
Paladin, Barbarian, and Samurai are all elite roles. Your party can change to elite roles after they have joined guilds and complete the quests needed. Paladin and Barbarian you can achieve while still early in the game, but Samurai you will not be able to achieve until you have reached the second village and areas beyond!
